Validation and handoff
AI-assisted docs still need a human review pass.
Validation checklist
Before accepting the output:
- verify source-doc links
- verify commands
- verify repo summary and architecture claims
- verify risky areas and safe edit zones
- check search and navigation
- compare the rendered result with the actual repo
Example
Good handoff:
Agent-drafted update reviewed against README, runbooks, and rendered site. Commands and links were checked manually.
Bad handoff:
Agent updated it, looks fine.
Why this matters
The point of the AI path is speed with control, not speed without review. A short validation pass prevents the most common mistakes from becoming permanent docs.
Next steps
- Return to AI docs workflow.
- Or use the Manual docs workflow when the repo should be documented entirely by humans.
